Minnie Mouse 1st birthday party

Hello, there!!

Today I’m excited to share my first dessert table ever. I put this table together for my daughter’s first birthday, back in 2011. I hand made all the decorations using cardstock, ribbon and tulle. It had been years since I last crafted anything, and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it. Growing up, I used to make paper cards and crafts for my mother on special occasions, since we didn’t have any money to buy gifts.

It was so much fun and a lot of sweat at the same time. We had a few setbacks like the three-tier cake tipping over on the car’s backseat. The top layer was ruined and I couldn’t replicate the same design that my friend had made using fondant, so I had to remove the fondant on all three tiers and do it again. It was my first time using fondant and it took me more than 24 hours to finish it. On the other hand, I made a tulle table skirt by hand with the help of my mother, which looked fabulous, yet we don’t have any pictures of it.

Overall, it was a great and joyful experience. My daughter’s first birthday will always hold a special place in our hearts. Enjoy the not so great pictures
